Want to give your kid a thrill on her or his birthday? Wish them happy birthday on the school marquee!

Please donate $30 on the PTO donate button in the store tab.

When you donate, please indicate that the donation is for the birthday marquee, so that our treasurer can account for the donation

Please screenshot your receipt and contact with your child’s name and birthday. You’ll get a confirmation email to confirm your purchase.

Warm Fuzzies

Send some love to the MIMS staff this holiday season by writing them a Warm Fuzzy! The Hospitality Committee’s plan is to take all the warm fuzzies (notes or drawn pictures), wrap them together in a box for each teacher, and distribute them the week of December 16-19, 2019.

Please take the time and have your child fill out a note for their current or past teachers. Don’t forget your Enrichment teachers! Notes can be dropped off in the Warm Fuzzies boxes in the Community Room or Cafeteria, beginning Wednesday November 13, 2019.

Here’s the Warm&Fuzzy form to use!

Board Volunteer Opportunity: Community Fundraiser

Now that the PTO membership has approved the update to our bylaws, the MIMS PTO Board would like to invite candidates for the Community Fundraiser position to join the board.

The Community Fundraiser oversees all community focused fundraising and works with our corporate fundraiser and other committee chairs. Our next big focus will be Boosterthon and CNY. You’ll be a voting member of the board. For more details, review the bylaws.

The PTO Board will vote to select a board member from any candidates at our next board meeting, per the bylaws.

If you have questions, or if you’re interested in raising your hand for this (we work hard, but we’re a fun group), please send email to and to let us know.

Holiday Desserts for Teachers and Staff

To help our wonderful teachers and staff have an even better Thanksgiving, MIMS Hospitality Committee will be collecting pies, cakes, and other desserts from Nov 20-22nd.

We need 85 desserts to make sure everyone has one to take home. You can drop items off in the parent room starting on the 20th. Please bring all items before 10am on the 22nd – sign up  to tell us what you’re bringing.

Also, please consider the fact that we don’t have a refrigerator:).

We will let the teachers and staff pick what they would like to take home on the 22nd so please label what you bring.

Thanks in advance for your support of our amazing MIMS facility and staff!

Magnet Tours – Sign up to help

Welcome to Magnet Tour season!

Tours start on October 3rd and will be every Thursday until December 5th at 9 AM.

November 21st & December 5th will have two tour times at 9 AM and 1 PM.

If you are a MIMS parent, we need your expertise to help guide the tours for Pre-K, Kinder, and 6th grade. The interested parents will ask questions about day-to-day activities within the classroom, lunch, recess, electives, etc. You will briefly take the parents inside the classrooms to give them the feel of what their child/children will be learning. This is the perfect opportunity for you to help ease the minds of new parents and get them excited about MIMS!

Mr. Ying is also looking for students to show off their Chinese skills on the magnet tours (8th grade & 5th grade). If your child is interested in presenting please send an email to Mr. Ying with the subject line: magnet tour presenter.
