Welcome to our Back to School page! We will update this page throughout the summer with important back-to-school resources and information. Please register and create an account for our website. Welcome to the MIMS community!

2024-2025 SCHOOL SUPPLIES

Click here to view the school supply lists for PK-5th grade. Middle School teachers will give students their supply list during the first week of school.

DRESS CODE (UNIFORMS)

Please see the MIMS Dress Code. (Subject to change)

Middle School PE Uniform:

Students will dress IN AND OUT each PE class period. They will not leave the gym to go to other classes in their PE uniform. The expectation is to change back into their school uniform.

Top: MIMS PE shirt (MIMS Middle School RED shirt) or SOLID RED top (no large graphics or logos, only small logos such as Nike check are okay)

Bottom: SOLID BLACK athletic shorts or athletic pants (no large graphics or logos, only small logos such as Nike check are okay. Shorts may be worn at the knee, or no more than 3 inches above the knee. No leggings or tights will be worn unless under shorts)

Shoes: Tennis shoes with socks

MIMS SPIRIT WEAR

Deadline to order your Spirit Wear is July 7, 2024 in order to have your order ready by the start of the school year. For more information about Spirit Wear, email spiritwear@mimspto.org.

MIMS PTO will be hosting summer playdates for new and returning families. Subscribe to the calendar for more future events.

August 8: Meet and Greet!

PK & Kinder: 10 am-12 pm, PTO Hour 12-2 pm, 1st - 8th grade: 2-4 pm, Garden 4-4:30 pm

PK and Kinder: Please arrive promptly at 10 am. During the first hour, you will hear from your child's teachers on everything you need to know to help your child have a successful first day of school. The remainder of the time will be more informal and similar to a traditional Meet and Greet.

1st - 8th grade: This is a come and go event so drop by anytime between 2-4 pm. Parents and students are welcome to visit MIMS to find out classroom assignments (posted in the cafeteria), meet their teacher(s), and visit classrooms.

Middle School students: Please stop by the cafeteria to pick up your schedules and ID badges.

You will also be able to meet other families, learn about our PTO during PTO Hour from 12-2 pm, pick up car rider and walker passes and school spirit wear, 2023-2024 yearbooks, and drop off your child’s school supplies! Come help in the MIMS Garden from 4-4:30 pm. We will be clearing out some garden beds and putting down more flowers and vegetables in preparation for upcoming sociables and gala centerpieces!

We look forward to seeing you all there and to kicking off a great year together! Your partnership and support are essential to our success, and we are excited about the wonderful things we will achieve together this year!

August 12: First Day of School & Boohoo/Woohoo!

Welcome back! Some will cry, boohoo… Others will cheer, woohoo! Whatever your mood, MIMS PTO is here for you! Parents, stop by for some coffee at Spark Park after you drop off your student on the first day of school and then join us for breakfast at 9 am. (Place TBA) This is a great way to meet new parents, ask questions, or just socialize. We hope to see you there!

After School program 2024-2025 (asp)

MIMS offers Morning Care, Extended Day and Enrichment Classes offered by HISD Approved Vendors. Pricing for Morning Care and Extended Day is listed on schoolpay. Registration is TBA.

A tuition-based after-school program offering Extended Day for PK through 8th Grade students from 3:50 pm - 6:30 pm, with several options available, as well as HISD Approved Vendor Classes. The Extended Day Options, staffed by HISD Employees are: Full Time 3:50-6:30 pm; Half Time 3:50-5:30 pm; Occasional 3:50-6:30 pm (sold in increments of 5 Days/Units) or Bridge Extended Day on a day you register for solely a 2nd hour Enrichment Class. Enrichment classes are offered by HISD Approved Vendors each semester for a separate cost.
